Pono ukuleles have set a new benchmark in stringed instrument manufacturing. Throughout the world Pono instruments are known for high quality at an affordable price. Using a variety of solid woods, the Pono instruments have come to be recognized for their classic warm tone and ease of playability.
Electronic amplification is included on this model. The custom designed "Pono" brand pickup is a "passive" piezo saddle transducer. Producing an excellent tone as a stand alone pickup, it can be easily connected to an Outboard Preamp, thus converting it to a "active" system, with enhanced tone and volume.
Pono instruments are professionally designed and handcrafted. All manufacturing is conducted by and closely supervised by Ko'olau Ukulele Company, with final adjustments and set-up at the factory on the island of Oahu, Hawaii.
